3 Steps to Have Peace and Protection for Back to School

Nervous about getting back to school? These tips will help!

This year, back to school looks a little different. The changes being made in the school system will not only be challenging for you, but also for the children. It can be unnerving, and many are worried about their safety and security. During this difficult time, we want to help you be prepared. We have compiled some tools so that you can go into this next season victorious!

You and your children can return to school knowing that the Holy Spirit is with you and He will prepare a pathway of peace before you. The Lord has angels charged to protect you and you can draw on the wisdom and understanding of God to catch up on any work that may have been missed. You can be sure that Jesus will be with you all day, all week and for all of your life.

Here are 3 simple steps to experience peace and protection during this time!

1. Declare

According to Psalm 91:2, to live in God’s secret place of protection we must make this declaration, “We will say of the Lord, He is our refuge and our fortress: our God; in Him will we trust.”

Why is it so important to say such words?

The Bible says we have what we say (Mark 11:23)!

Below are declarations you can make over your life and your children’s lives daily.

  1. I am not anxious about anything. I pray with thanksgiving about everything and make my requests known to the Lord. His peace, which passes all understanding, keeps my heart and mind through Jesus Christ. He keeps me in perfect peace for my mind is fixed on Him, because I trust in Him. (See Philippians 4:6-7; Isaiah 26:3.)
  2. God has not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. No weapon formed against me shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against me in judgment is condemned. Fear has no dominion over me because the Greater One lives in me. He has given me the victory in every area of life. The Lord is on my side, so I will not fear. What can man do to me? Nothing, because I declare God’s Word. (See 2 Timothy 1:7, Isaiah 54:17, 1 John 4:4.)
  3. I don’t allow my heart to be troubled because I trust in the Lord. I stand on His promises in Psalm 91, and I declare that no evil shall befall me, neither shall any plague or calamity come near me, my family or our dwelling places. The angels of the Lord surround me and watch over my family. I cover my family and myself with the blood of Jesus—spirit, soul and body.

 2. Activate God’s Promises

You can be sure that God will protect you and your children because He specifically said He will. His written Word is full of promises that, if you will believe them and act upon them, will guarantee your safety—regardless of what is happening in school, and in the world.

One of the most powerful ways to build your faith and activate God’s promises is to incorporate them into your prayers every day.

Here are verses and promises you can recite over you and your children.

Ephesians 6:10 “…be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.”

Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Isaiah 54:13 “All your children shall be taught by the Lord, and great shall be the peace of your children.”

Philippians 4:6-7 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.”

Proverbs 3:26 “For the Lord will be your confidence, and will keep your foot from being caught.”

Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

Psalm 55:22 “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He shall sustain you; he shall never permit the righteous to be moved.”

Insert your name into these verses, insert your children’s names, and family member’s name. For all God’s promises are YES AND AMEN!

Last, but certainly not least…

3. Pray

Prayer is so powerful. Prayer is simply talking to God!

Every morning pray for yourself and your family members by name and declare that God is your refuge.

Here is a prayer of protection you can pray in faith for those going back to school:

Father, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for the gift of education. I thank You that my children have the privilege and right to develop their minds and grow in knowledge for the good and strength of the Kingdom on this earth and to do so safely.

Lord, we know it is NEVER your will that bullying, shootings or outbreaks take place in a school or anywhere else.

I thank You that Your Word in Psalm 91 promises divine protection for my children, and I declare that no evil will come near my children or their schools in the Name of Jesus. I declare that no weapon formed against our schools will prosper.

I thank You that Your angels surround me and my children, taking charge over them and protecting them from danger of any kind.

I speak life, truth, safety and protection over every one at this school. I plead the blood of Jesus over me, my children and the schools—every building they walk into, and every vehicle they ride in. I declare that no evil will come near them.

I thank You, Father, that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of POWER. I rebuke the spirit of fear in Jesus’ Name and loose a spirit of power over this school. I thank You and praise You for Your goodness, Your mercy and Your grace. Thank You that as I have applied the blood of Jesus on the doorposts of this school, nothing shall be able to harm it.

In Jesus’ Name. Amen. 🙏

When you pray this prayer in faith, you can have peace that you and your children are under a covering of protection that cannot be touched by the enemy.

Continue in the good fight of faith. Keep declaring, confessing, and praying. Let the enemy know one thing is sure, he can’t have you. Remind him that he has no authority, we have the authority through the blood and the Name above all names, the Name of Jesus. Glory to God!

No matter what is going on around us there is no need to be anxious or fearful, for God is on our side!

You are VICTORIOUS!
