What If the 2026 World Cup Is the Best Time To Share Your Faith

The world doesn’t always come to your doorstep, but this summer, it will.

For a few short weeks during the 2026 World Cup, cities across North America will be filled with people from every nation, culture and background. Languages will differ. Traditions will vary. But one thing will remain the same: Hearts are searching. And as believers, we don’t have to go far to find them because the harvest is ripe.

“These were [Jesus’] instructions to [His disciples]: ‘The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So, pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask Him to send more workers into his fields’” (Luke 10:2).

This summer, take advantage of 2026 World Cup crowds, recognize your moment, and confidently witness about Jesus to people from around the world.

It’s Time To Share Your Faith

Jesus said to His disciples, “You know the saying, ‘Four months between planting and harvest.’ But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest” (John 4:35).

A global phenomenon, millions of people will travel, celebrate and gather during the World Cup. But behind the excitement, many carry questions about purpose, eternity and hope. They may never step into a church; but they will stand next to you in a line, sit beside you at a game, celebrate with you at a watch party, or share a conversation in a café.

This is not accidental. God is positioning His people.

God is bringing the world to you…. This is our moment as believers.

Many believers hesitate to share the gospel because they feel unprepared. But boldness doesn’t come from having all the answers; it comes from the Holy Spirit within you.

When you realize that you don’t have to figure out what to say, fear loses its grip. You simply can  share what the Lord puts on your heart, knowing it is He who calls people to Himself.

As you prepare for the 2026 World Cup to come to your area, here are some ways you can be ready to share your faith:

  • Ask the Lord for divine encounters
  • Be sensitive to promptings from the Holy Spirit
  • Remember that it is God who does the work; you are simply a vessel.

Keep Your Message Personal and Clear

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me” (John 14:6).

You don’t need a script to witness about Jesus or share your faith. Be open to meet and talk to new people. Recognize when you feel a natural connection. Allow the Lord to move the conversation. He knows the empty places in their souls and how to speak hope to them through you. Just share from your heart.

In the biblical story found in John 4, Jesus said the only acceptable thing a man could say to a woman he didn’t know: “Give me a drink.” He didn’t start with how big a sinner she was or berate her for being out in the hot sun. He asked for a drink and waited for her response. Then He moved from there to speak of spiritual things.

You can do it, too. As the Lord leads, open up your heart. Be friendly in your conversation. Be equally ready to talk about the game or your faith in God. Let the prompting of the Holy Spirit guide you to speak or listen.

These small moments open big doors because everyone is here for the same reason, so the harvest is ripe to introduce Jesus into any conversation. Being friendly can turn any situation into a life-changing moment. World Cup talk can become just the start you need!

Sharing your personal testimony opens hearts.

When the conversation turns deeper, don’t complicate it. The most powerful way to witness about Jesus is through your story. Share your journey, doubts you had, answers God gave, His goodness in your life.

That is often a wide-open door to gently introduce the truth that Jesus died for them, rose again and offers eternal life. Because people are more open than you think.

Who knows, perhaps God has planned you and a traveler far from home to meet this summer. He is preparing the way and is looking for someone who will simply say, “Use me, Lord.”

Remember, it’s not complicated:

  • Keep your testimony simple and honest
  • Focus on what Jesus has done in your life
  • Invite them to respond, not just listen.

Ask the Leading Question | Where Will You Spend Eternity?

“There is more than enough room in my Father’s home…I am going to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2).

At some point, every meaningful conversation leads to this: eternity. This question isn’t meant to pressure someone, it’s meant to reveal the truth. Eternity matters.

You may meet someone from another country who may never cross your path again. That moment is precious to share your faith. It may be their only opportunity to hear the gospel clearly.

As you lean on God, His timing will prompt you about what to say and when to say it.

When the 2026 World Cup begins, opportunities won’t be scheduled, they’ll happen in real time. A conversation here. A question there. That’s why preparing your heart matters.

“The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So, pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields” (Luke 10:2).

Prayer positions your heart, so when the moment comes, you recognize it.

You don’t need to memorize a presentation; you don’t need to be a professional speaker. The Apostle Paul wrote that eloquent speech didn’t change hearts. It was the touch of God that moved people to salvation. You carry a powerful message, your own story.

Be ready because you know your story. No one can tell it like you. No one can argue with what Jesus has done in your life. And when you share it, it becomes a bridge for others to encounter Him. Willingness to talk about your story is what propels you forward.

If you want to think through your story and how to share it, try these three practical exercises:

·  Prepare a short, clear version of your testimony

·  Focus on what changed when you met Jesus

·  Keep the emphasis on Him, not just on your experience.

Be Ready for This Moment

“When the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you into all truth” (John 16:13).

This isn’t just another event. The 2026 World Cup is a window of opportunity. God is bringing the nations to you. There is no pressure.

When you are open and willing, you position yourself to respond when it matters most. And when that moment comes, you won’t hesitate.

You’ll step forward because you’re ready.

Not every conversation will lead to salvation. That’s not your responsibility. But every step of obedience pleases God.

When the 2026 World Cup begins, the moments will come quickly. Conversations will be spontaneous. Opportunities will feel sudden. So, pray. Stay aware. Be willing. And when the moment comes, step forward.

Remember: God appointed and equipped you for just this time.
