August 2017 Partner Letter

Dear Partner,

Have you taken your medicine today? I’m talking about your heavenly prescription—the one in Proverbs 4:20-22. Let’s look at it:

  1. My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.
  2. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.
  3. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

In verse 22, the Hebrew word translated health is also translated medicine or cure. Psalm 107:20 says, “He sent His WORD, and healed them.” However, just like any other medicine, it can’t do you any good if you don’t take it. So let’s read the instructions and follow them step by step. Following these instructions guarantees results. Not only that, but you can double and triple the dose, and the side effects are wonderful!

Step One: “Attend to my words.”

These are not just anyone’s words. They are the words of THE Almighty God, Creator of all flesh. His WORD is to your spirit what food is to your flesh: life. Your body cannot be physically healthy without physical food, and neither can your faith be strong and healthy without spiritual food.

“Brother Copeland, come go with me.”

“I can’t. I have an appointment. Maybe later.”

What did I just do and say? I made a choice based on a previous commitment. There is something else I must attend to. The WORD of God is the most important thing there is. Period! It is life. Jesus said, “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). He also said, “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you” (John 15:7). Feeding on God’s healing promises and facts builds your faith to not only receive healing but to stay well.

Step Two: “Incline thine ear unto my sayings.”

Romans 10:17 says:

  1. So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by The WORD of God.

That’s the reason it’s so very important to turn to The WORD first. Find out what your heavenly Father has to say on the subject. The word incline in Proverbs 4:20 means to lean in that direction.

“Yeah, I know the Bible says that, but….”

I’ve heard that so many times! I remember asking a man in a healing line, “Do you know the Bible says in 1 Peter 2:24, by His stripes we were healed?” He said yes. I asked, “Are you healed?”

He said, “No, I have this problem,” pointing to his side.

I said, “The Bible says you are.”

He replied, “I know it says that, but I’m not.”

I said by the Holy Spirit, “If I agree with you, you’ll stay sick. If you’ll agree with me on what God says about it, you’ll receive your healing.”

He saw it! His face lit up. He said, “Lay your hands on me, and I’ll be healed,” and he was! He changed the direction of his ears. I learned many years ago to never ask my body if it’s healed. It would say no. If I were to ask people if it’s healed, they would say no. So I incline my ear to what the Bible, God’s WORD, says about it. The answer is always yes!

Step Three: “Let them not depart from thine eyes.”

The ears and the eyes work together as a team. If you’ll put your eyes on something long enough, you’ll eventually go in that direction. See yourself with what The WORD says you have instead of seeing yourself without it. Begin to see yourself well. See yourself out of debt with all sufficiency in all things, abounding to every good work. Meditate on His words by speaking them to yourself as you put your eyes on them. FAITH COMETH!

Step Four: “Keep them in the midst of thine heart.”

Your heart, or your spirit, is the real you. You are a spirit being. You have a soul, made up of your will, mind and emotions. You live in a physical body. Your spirit, or you, can live without your body. But your body cannot live without you, your spirit man. Your inner man is the source of the spiritual forces necessary for life on this planet.

Look at Proverbs 4:23:

  1. Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Issues is also translated forces. One of the meanings of the Hebrew word is “escape from death.” Let’s look at the New Living Translation of that verse:

  1. Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Your heart determines the course of your life. I don’t know how to make it more clear than that.

Remember now what Jesus said in Mark 11:22-25:

  1. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
  2. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
  3. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
  4. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

That’s the way it works! Trying to do life any other way is far below all Jesus did and has made available for us.

As you sow your BLESSING seed this month, name it. Find the Scripture promises that cover your situation, and take them as the answer to your prayers. Then take them as medicine daily. Don’t see anything else. Don’t talk anything else. Proverbs 4:24 is commanding you to put away from yourself a disobedient mouth. Your victory is in your mouth, but so is your defeat. It’s not up to Jesus. He has done His part and is standing ready as your High Priest to back His words in your mouth. This is the victory that overcomes the world, EVEN OUR FAITH! Put The WORD in your ears, eyes, heart and mouth. The victory belongs to you. GO FOR IT! We’re believing with you and backing you with our own faith every day.

We have a huge job to do—so huge we can’t do it without one another. But together, WE WILL GET IT DONE!

Gloria and I love you dearly.

Love,

Ken

P.S. SOW IT FORWARD! Be a blessing. Pass this letter on to a family member or friend.
