Dear Partner,
When Gloria and I arrived in Tulsa, Okla., in January 1967, we drove through the campus of Oral Roberts University. Kellie was 3 years old, and John was a little over a year old. Kellie said, “OH, DADDY, JESUS LIVES HERE!” The campus was beautiful, and it still is. I, however, had a lot on my mind. Mainly, we had no money! And I had $24,000 in bad debt that had accumulated over a long period of time. It was warring against my mind something terrible.
Gloria and I had been married only four years. We both accepted Jesus six months after we married in April 1962, and both received the infilling of the Holy Spirit in January 1963. We were scriptural illiterates, but we knew we were saved, and we both spoke in tongues and loved it. But what about all that debt? The night before I was to register, I was almost sick with worry about it. I said, “Gloria, I’m going into the bedroom and pray all night long if I have to!” I was on my face praying when, suddenly, I heard The LORD say in my spirit: STAND UP ON YOUR FEET! I sent you here. I will take care of you here. Your ministry begins now! They can’t make a minister out of you. I have already made you a minister. All they can do is train you.
When I came out, Gloria said, “What happened to all night long?” I then told her what The LORD had said.
The next morning, it began. The LORD provided a little more than enough to take care of the first quarter of my tuition. Not only that, but I became co-pilot on the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association’s airplane. Then, The LORD introduced Gloria and me to Kenneth E. Hagin’s ministry. By November 1967, we were completely debt free! How? By faith!
Remember now, Isaiah 53 is Jesus on the cross. Isaiah 54 is to the Church. It begins with, “Fear not”!
- Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more.
Now let’s turn to verse 5: “For thy Maker is thine husband; The LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; the God of the whole earth shall he be called.”
That verse is especially important for those whose spouses departed for heaven in 2023.
Now let’s look at what Peter says about God’s “exceeding great and precious promises” (2 Peter 1:3-4):
- According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
- Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
The first time the word COVENANT was used in The WORD of God is in Genesis 9:8-9: “And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying, And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you.”
Now look at verse 11: “And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.”
That became the “rainbow covenant,” or Noah Covenant! Glory to God!
Now look at Isaiah 54:9-10:
- For this is as the waters of Noah unto me: for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth; so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee, nor rebuke thee.
- For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith The LORD that hath mercy on thee.
Keep reading. Let’s go to verse 13: “And all thy children shall be taught of The LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.”
Now, dear Partner, this is 2024 in verses 14-15:
- In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
- Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
You will be FAR from oppression! Acts 10:38 says: “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
How? You shall not fear, and you shall be far from terror! Now let’s read verse 15 again which reveals the goodness of God! In verse 5, He is called The LORD of Hosts—LORD of the angelic armies of the Creator Himself! And who is that? His Name is Jesus! Let’s prove it. Isaiah 53-54 is from the First Covenant. Philippians 2 is in the Second Covenant, so let’s read verses 6-11, in the AMPC:
- Who, although being essentially one with God and in the
form of God [possessing the fullness of the attributes which make God God], did not think this equality with God was a thing to be eagerly grasped or retained, - But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being.
- And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross!
- Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name,
- That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
- And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father.
The bottom line then for 2024 is: “I have a Covenant with my God and Savior, backed by His sinless blood, shed for me on the Cross.” So, in faith and, by faith, I confess with a loud voice Isaiah 54:17 (AMPC):
- But no weapon that is formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment you shall show to be in the wrong. This [peace, righteousness, security, triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of The LORD [those in whom the ideal Servant of The LORD is reproduced]; this is the righteousness or the vindication which they obtain from Me [this is that which I impart to them as their justification], says The LORD.
And 2 Corinthians 4:13:
- We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.
Hang on to, and stand on, 2 Corinthians 4:18:
- While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Now look at the same verse in the AMPC: “Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.”
ETERNAL—DEATHLESS AND EVERLASTING!
As you sow your BLESSING SEED this month, read what the Apostle Paul said by the Holy Spirit to the church at Corinth in 2 Corinthians 9:8, AMPC: “And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly BLESSING) come to you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and whatever
the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable donation].”
“Under ALL circumstances, and whatever the need”!
For every day of 2024, you will be prayed for five days a week by our staff and at every meal of every day, by me. And, on top of that, you are prayed for on every trip in the airplane (that you bought). Yes, amen! Now that I’m 87 years old, it is super appreciated! Do the math. I was 30 when this ministry began, and Gloria was 25. This ministry turned 57 on January 24!
Always remember: God Loves you, we Love you, and Jesus is LORD.
